Some people like reading books, and some people don’t.  Some people want all the detail, and some just want the facts.  This is the book for those who don’t like reading books but do want the facts.  The book is split into two parts.  The first part contains a who, what, when, where, why and how introduction to TRIZ.  If you have never seen or used TRIZ before, this is the section that will present you with the minimum amount of information necessary to understand the TRIZ philosophy.  It is also the section that will enable you to begin using TRIZ successfully.  Some people think that TRIZ is a very complex thing.  Some others have deliberately sought to make it sound complex.  Our aim in this first section is to de-mystify the whole thing, and show that TRIZ is actually very simple.  Very rich also, but first and foremost, simple.  The second part of the book details the essential tools contained within TRIZ.  This second part has been arranged alphabetically in order to ease access to each of the tools.  Our aim within each entry has been to provide all of the information you require to use a particular tool.  In that sense, the book is completely self-supporting.  For those readers that find there are occasions where they want to see more detail, or, more likely, case-study examples of a particular tool being used, we have designed this book to be consistent with our main ‘Hands-On Systematic Innovation’ reference.
