FutureProof: Re-Balancing The Organisation

The average lifespan of a Fortune 500 company used to be 67 years. Now it's 15. And it is expected to shorten further if large organisations do not take appropriate resiliency and sustainability measures. By making themselves super-efficient, they have unwittingly also made themselves highly codified and fragile. The modern enterprise is severely unbalanced: too much left-brain thinking and not enough right; too much focus on answers and not nearly enough on questions; too much ‘don’t just stand there, do something’ and not enough, ‘don’t just do something, stand there’; too much squashing people into predefined roles and not enough defining roles around immutable people. FutureProof is our long-promised book on the principles of enterprise antifragility. It is about balancing operational excellence and innovation, about knowing what the right balance is, how the balance changes over time, how to design and lead the transitions, and how leaders can pragmatically start and stay on the hazardous road from fragile to futureproof.

This 16-hour workshop will cover the necessary and sufficient principles required to achieve the futureproof enterprise. The 16 hours will be divided into four half-day online sessions.

Taught in the usual SI style through a combination of short, sharp injections of theory and hands-on breakout exercises, delegates are invited to bring along organisational fragility problems and dilemmas to explore during the workshop.

Dates: 15-16 and 22-23 October, precise timing will depend on time-zones of participants, but likely to be around the middle of the day GMT.
